Lawyers Council to help media in court

The Lawyers Council of Thailand has pledged to provide legal help in court free of charge to defend members of the press against lawsuits.

Sak Korsaengruang, president of the Council, signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday with representatives of the National Press Council of Thailand and the News Broadcasting Council of Thailand.

Under the agreement, which is effective immediately, members of the Lawyers Council will provide legal assistance pro bono to reporters and other workers of media outlets who face legal problems resulting from their work performed in an honest, professional manner.

    PAD-Dem's helping each other

Lawyer's Council, National Press Council and News Broadcasting Council...the whole lot of them.

This smacks of the PAD segmentation tactic of creating seemingly independent groups and networks.

Media affiliations, ownership and controls are well known. To have an obscure Lawyers Council pop up to support them, speaks to the motives and tactics noted above.
