No move to cut rice pledging price

Reports that the Ministry of Commerce would propose a reduction in the pledging price of non-glutinous rice on Friday were incorrect, Wiboonluk Ruamluk, director general of the Internal Trade Department, said on Thursday.
Ms Wiboonluk said there was no meeting of the National Rice Policy Committee scheduled on Friday, March 1, as was reported by some media.
The rice panel would meet in mid-March, she said.
