A Bangkok court has ordered insurer Deves Insurance Plc to pay client Central Pattana Plc 3.7 billion baht in claims for damage caused by a fire at CentralWorld at the end of the red-shirt protest at Ratchaprasong, in downtown Bangkok, in May 2010.

In its notification to the Stock Exchange of Thailand on Friday, Central said the court of first instance had ruled on Friday in favour of CPN.

The court ordered Deves Insurance to pay compensation for property damage in the amount of 2.71 billion baht and compensation for loss of income in the amount of 989.8 million baht, with interest of 7.5% per annum from March 31, 2011, until such amount was fully paid by Deves Insurance, the notification said.

Most insurance company do have clauses ie. not covered incase of civil war, etc during the protest in 2010 did the government declare bangkok is in state of emergency?

Disc 3 - Got some hard evidence there BoBo. Could have been the reds, it could have been the military, it could have been you for all we know. In the end there is no compelling evidence on anyone.

When are the insurance companies not claiming from the government for the disastrous man-made floods passed as natural disaster. It is proven beyond doubt that the government kept the water level too high in order for the farmers (voters) to reap their rice harvest and that the monsoon was not excessive for that time as falsely claimed. Weather reports and statistics around the world explained this in detail. Won't you just love this PT government?
