Red-faced Abac to keep polls secret

Director admits to flaws after backing wrong man

Abac Poll has vowed not to disclose the results of its surveys about elections in future after its predictions for the Bangkok poll picked the wrong winner.

Abac's pre-election poll, conducted between Thursday and Saturday, had Pheu Thai Party candidate Pongsapat Pongcharoen leading the race with support of 45.9%, an 11% lead over Sukhumbhand Paribatra of the Democrats.

But in the actual election Sunday, MR Sukhumbhand emerged victorious, bagging more than 1.2 million votes.

Abac, start thinking logically...exit polls CANNOT function in thailand...Why?? Simply because people are afraid of the numerous intimidation tactics of the red thugs....and disgusted those people seem to have the support of the police..so they prefer to give the evasive or wrong answer and your polls become a laughing stock of the world!!

Poll results were played into the hands of DP to promote the politic of fear and hate.

It's a shame that the ABAC just realized this fact, ever since from the start. I have already made my opinion about this polls that the number of people interviewed is not significant to represent the total voters thus, it should not be interpreted as real. Other times, polls commissioned are just one way of getting money from somewhere, or another way of riding on what is on the trend.

My sympathy to those who were deceived and believe on those false predictions just because they talked to a fraction of voters.

And isn’t this same the Noppadon who just the other day said that political entities come and go, but research is eternal … or words to that effect?

It’s almost as if the poll results were designed to scare the Dem constituents into getting out there and voting. Let’s have a poll on that, shall we?

When they poll such small amounts of people, what do they expect?...'We polled 1,321 people in 10 areas over 3 days!....'

Isn't this the poll all the reds were quoting in the days leading up to yesterday? LOL. How about red-faced reds?

"We didn't serve anyone in particular and I'd previously written an article saying people should not believe everything the pollsters say," he said.

and then he says "ABAC will attempt to eliminate biased respondents". Really -how interesting.

K Noppodon might be better off zipping up until the furore dies down. This was a major stuff up and a perfect example of group think and media bias.
