Teacher caning student clip goes viral

A video clip of a school teacher repeatedly beating a student with a cane has drawn more positive responses than negative ones from Thai netizens.

In the 43-second video, uploaded to Youtube on Monday by PutDejudomVEVO, the teacher scolded her student for not doing his homework, viciously caning him many times.

According to reports, the incident took place at Ban Noen Phlapwan School in Pattaya, Chon Buri province.

Resorting to violence is not the answer. I have seen teacher at all levels smack the crap out of young adults and young kids. I have witnessed teachers hold another student so that the first offender can hit the student back. Foreign teachers discipline will hold no weight when mixed amongst this violent Thai mindset. If their idea of canning works so well how come this society has no clue about consequences and difficulty in holding back their anger, emotions and aggressions... enough said

"However, many internet users said it was not wrong to discipline students by caning them".
I tend to agree. Many teens today are completely out of reach.

I can honestly say I am not sure the cane is the answer but I do know that proper parenting is the answer. Thai parents do not give enough time, attention and love to their children. It seems a high percentage of most Thai parents have no idea what their children are involved in, inside and outside the classroom. Pay attention to your children is the message before they do something very bad and it is too late to save them from themselves.
