Airport officials linked to rhino trade

Thai authorities said Tuesday they would seek arrest warrants for three police officers allegedly involved in trafficking rhino horn through Bangkok's main airport.

Image taken on Feb 6, 2013 shows rhinoceros resting in the Kruger National Park in South Africa. A record 668 South African rhinos were slaughtered for their horns in 2012, an increase of nearly 50% compared with 2011, according to WWF.

The horn was brought into Suvarnabhumi Airport in January by Vietnamese migrant workers paid $500 per trip, said Narasak Hemnithi, commander of the Natural Resources Environmental Crime Division.

Reasons not to immediately ban all ivory trade in Thailand:

    1. To protect the business of corrupt Thai officials and some ivory traders.
    2. .....

Reasons to immediately ban all ivory trade in Thailand:

    1. To secure the survival of some of the biggest animal specieses on earth.

There is a saying that "With great power comes great responsibility", unfortunately when this saying was introduced to Thais incl. Ms Yingluck, a translation error made it "With great power comes no responsibility - just cash"!

Police offers involved in involved in trafficking rhino horns?
As far as I know from news channels, they are into human trafficking, hit-man, extortion, drugs, prostitution, abduction, protection and similar businesses! – But maybe a new nice market they are exploring. After all, our police force is a business right?

Arrested, moved sideways so as not to further embarrass the Royal Thai Police Farce with full pay and benefits. LOL, is anyone surprised even the least bit? Not me. This is the real Thailand!

Not to fear Thai citizens....this is all an illusion created with smoke and mirrors...the illegal trade is still doing just fine and no real action is even in a dream stage. Just remember, we are Thai and oh soooooo smart.

Do you mean Thai people love money more than wild animals? Image that? Thai's are a greedy lot, will do anything, commit any crime for money. Sickness that runs through the entire country except Isaan where people are too poor and uneducated to worry about anything.

They have evidence from January, but do nothing. What are the names of the three police officers involved in this latest illegal activity?
