Couple slain by angry neighbour

A husband and a wife were shot dead inside their home by their neighbour following a heated argument on Thursday night in Ayutthaya province, police said.

Pol Lt Pattarapol Bunkasem, duty officer at Bang Pa-in police station, said  Paitoon Horklang, 34, and Suthada Horklang, 36 were slain when they returned home from work at Hi-Tech Industrial Estate, Ayutthaya.

Witnesses told investigators that their neighbour, Winai Chanloi, 50, a taxi driver, and community policeman, was outside their home. Winai berated them, accusing them of causing an obstruction near his home, the witnesses told police.

Who were these people going to call, the police?

"Witnesses said Winai had frequent arguments with people in the area and often threatened them by firing his gun into the air."

And this guy was allowed to carry a gun and act as a police officer???

"Firing his gun in the air". Shouldn't he had been arrested for that. The law of gravity what goes up must come down.

Always arguing with neighbours and firing his gun. I think if the police had arrested him on the charge of discharging his gun in public a long time ago then maybe this wouldn't have happened.

Does he have a license for that gun?

RIP for the people who were killed.

If he had done this before why wasn't his gun taken away and for that matter why was he still a "community policeman" and not in jail or on parole?

"Witnesses said Winai had frequent arguments with people in the area and often threatened them by firing his gun into the air."

And nobody would ever had thought about reporting him to police. It always takes some dead before Thai people get out of their "mai pen rai" "not my business" attitude.

Why wasn't the arrested before ? People pretend to be all calm and cool and then explode because they don't know how to show their emotions like grown ups .
