3 rangers wounded by bomb in Yala

Three rangers were wounded, one seriously, by a bomb explosion in Yala's Raman district on Monday morning, reports said.

A patrol was returning to the base of the 41st Rangers Company when a bomb planted on the road near a village in tambon Wang Phaya was detonated about 10.20am, only one kilometres from the base camp.

The explosion hit their vehicle and wounded three rangers identified as Chatmongkol Thongthammachart, 32, Manas Satsue, 28, and Wichit Chomwichian, 32.  Manas was seriously wounded.

    Hardly a day goes by that these road side bombs don't go off and injure or kill people in the Deep South.

    Israel went through a period of these same such bombings a few years ago. After they captured a bomber the military would blow up the bomber's family house, but gave the occupants a 1 minute warning notice to get out of that house.

    Maybe Thailand should follow Israel's example. There haven't been any more bombings in Israel in a long time.
