Sukhumbhand reports to DSI

Bangkok governor-elect Sukhumbhand Paribatra said Thursday that a Department of Special Investigation (DSI) investigation into alleged illegal Democrat Party donations under the Political Parties Act was misguided.

After hearing the charge from Pol Col Nirund Adulyasak, chief of the DSI's Bureau of Special Crime, MR Sukhumbhand insisted he and other Democrats involved had not violated the law. He said the DSI's charges were wrong, and the case could interfere with the work of the Election Commission.

Disc 7 - There is a difference in the way the votes relate between the Governor and the national poll. The Governor poll has but one winner for one slot and winning by less than 200,0000 is not a landslide but it's convincing win. The National election has 500 slots. The PTP won a majority of 265 seats, up 76, the Democrats won 159, down 14 seats. 2011 wasn't a marginal win, it was a thorough trouncing.

For that matter, contrast this with the cowardly and continuing failure of the fugitive to return to face the music.

D5: Then, by your own logic the Pheu Thaksin gang's win in 2011 was only marginal, not a landslide as all red shirt apologist described it at the time?

A "landslide victory" elected bkk governor has to hear his misconduct charge in front of a pol col. Quite defacing it is.

    Disc4
"In politics, a landslide victory (or landslide) is the victory of a candidate or political party by an overwhelming margin"
Roughly 10% more than the runner up, in a by-election, could hardly be called a landslide in any language!
You can dream as much as you like - soon you will disappear as irrelevant in Thai politics.

After the landslide victory for the Democrats the fugitive is becoming more and more desperate. It seems like he is repeating all the mistakes which lead to the downfall of his previous dictatorships.

"the Election Commission, which never raised the possibility the donations were illegal." and the EC doesn't lay charges itself, it only acts on petitions by others so why would it say anything.

Contrast this with Tarit's own refusal to appear before a parliamentary committee responsible for oversight of his agency.
