Ft rate tipped to remain stable in 2013

The fuel tariff (Ft) rate on electricity consumption is likely to remain unchanged for the rest of this year, Energy Regulatory Commission chairman Direk Lavansiri has indicated.

He said this was because of the appreciation of the baht and the huge reduction in electricity consumption by the  private sector.

Mr Direk said the Ft rate, a variable electricity charge, was set at 52.04 satang per unit from January to April. The rate is  calculated from fuel prices, the foreign currency exchange rate and the demand for electricity.
