Thai police - I normally try to defend you from a lot of the unfair critisism fired at you, but this is nothing short of criminal itself!
You must know what this revelation means. The poor family of this HERO must now be extremely scared of the inevitable, at best, abuse, by some locals (and I really pray to God nothing worse).Future informants will now, certainly, be harder to recruit due to loss of trust generated by this revelation alone!
Whoever is responsible for this (and somebody MUST be) should be charged with accesory to murder, because that is exactly what it is.
Khun Marorsi Ror-ying, RIP - You deserved much better from your peo

The police letting everyone know that the man was an informant is a very smart move. Not only can it endanger his family, but it may also discourage others from becoming informants! Thai police work at it's best!

"Police believed it was the work of separatist militants because Marorsi was an informant of a security unit in Yala."

Unbelievable that the police, and the media, would report that Mr. Marosi was an 'informer' of a security unit. How callous can they be? Has anyone thought about the stigma that this will cause his family and friends? It's bad enough that his family lost this curages man, but to have him labelled as an 'informer' is outrageous.

Shame on the police and media.
