Romklao widow urges probe progress

The widow of Gen Romklao Thuwatham, slain in the April, 2010, street clashes, on Tuesday appealed to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to speed up the investigation by the Department of Special Investigation into her husband's death.

Nicha Hirunburana Thuwatham submitted her request in a formal letter to Ms Yingluck in person following Tuesday's cabinet meeting. It named her husband and four other soldiers killed in the violence surrounding a prolonged red shirt protest.

The premier pledged to look into the matter, Mrs Nicha said.

Nicha Hirunburana Thuwatham keep the pressure on, please. Your husband's violent death is pivotal evidence that Thaksin's army, the red bully boys, were indeed heavily armed and violent. Proving that will destroy the myth that they were peaceful and democratic.
