Former comrades of the defunct Burma Communist Party and their offspring are squabbling over the use of property granted them 55 years ago, media reports said Sunday.
The dispute involves a plot of land in Dekkhinathiri township, Naypyitaw, 350 kilometres north of Yangon, that was part of a settlement area the government granted to 38 senior party members to entice them to end their struggle, the Myanmar Times reported.
The son of one of the deceased party leaders has built a shop on a site designated for a library, despite objections from the 37 other families living in the neighbourhood.
