Landslide warning for 47 provinces

Residents across 47 provinces should prepare to cope with heavy rain and possible landslides today and tomorrow, Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department director-general Chatchai Promlert said on Thursday.
The 47 provinces at risk are: Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Prachin Buri, Nakhon Nayok, Chachoengsao, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Kalasin, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Kamphaeng Phet, Uthai Thani, Phitsanulok, Tak, Sukhothai, Phetchabun, Uttaradit, Lampang, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Mae Hong Son, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Satun, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Bung Kan, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Chanthaburi, Rayong, Trat, Chon Buri, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, Phannga and Ranong.
Mr Chatchai said waves in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea could reach 2-3 metres high, adding that small boats should remain ashore.
