Fishermen want 'fair' oil spill damages

Fishermen have written to PTT Plc asking the company to clearly outline its plans to compensate locals affected by the oil leak from an offshore pipeline in Rayong province operated by its subsidiary PTT Global Chemical Plc.

Chaturas Iamworanirun, president of the Small-Scale Fishermen's Association of Rayong, told Thai Rath newspaper that the association's members and representatives from the Eastern People's Network would submit the letter to PTT executives on Thursday, in a bid to elicit clear information about measures to compensate people affected by the July 27 oil leak.
