The majority of people surveyed by Abac Poll are losing faith in parliament following the recent events in the House of Representatives.
The survey was carried out just after a conflict-filled joint sitting on Tuesday when lawmakers debated constitutional amendments including whether all senators should be elected. The pollsters from Assumption University questioned 2,127 people aged above 18 years in 17 provinces. The results have a margin of error of plus or minus 7%.
Abac Poll assistant director Poontharee Issarangkul Na Ayutthaya said 73.2% of the respondents said they were following the news on the parliamentary debate and 65.2% of them said they lacked faith in parliament. Another 20.9% still believe in the system and 14% had no opinion.
