Police have not sought arrest warrants for two Democrat MPs over the rubber protest in the South, as was reported by some media, Deputy Prime Minister Pol Gen Pracha Promnok said on Friday.
It was reported by some media that warrants had been issued for the arrest of two MPs of the main opposition party – Thavorn Senniam and Nipit Intarasombat – on charges of inciting the rubber farmers' protests in the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat.
The report was groundless. The two Democrat MPs had shown up at the rally sites, but police had not sought arrest warrants for them as it would be an abuse of power, Pol Gen Pracha said.
