Thai-born female giant panda Lin Ping will be sent back to China to find her mate later this month, Chiang Mai Zoo has announced.
Thai-born giant panda Lin Ping will be sent back to China to find her mate later this month. She will hopefully bring him back to Chiang Mai in one year.
Zoo director Thanapat Pongpamorn said that Lin Ping, who had her fourth birthday in May, will leave Thailand on Sept 28 and be lodged at a sanctuary in Chengdu, China, for one year. During that time, it is hoped she will accept a mate.
