TCC: Protest hurting South economy

The road blocks set up by rubber protesters in several soutnern provinces have begun taking a toll on local businesses, banches of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) in Surat Thani and Songkhla provinces said on Wednesday.

“Logistic sectors are forced to use detours which generate cost and waste time. The issue is especially pronounced in Surat Thani because it serves as a distribution point for many other provinces,” said the chairman of the Surat Thani TCC, Suthat Lertmanorat.
