PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN — Two journalists’ cars were set ablaze early Friday morning during the clashes on Phetkasem Road in Bang Saphan district between angry rubber protesters and riot police that began on Thursday evening, leaving many injured on both sides.
The protesters were attempting to close both the north- and south-bound lanes of Petchkasem Road, the major highway to the South, at the 412-413 kilometre markers, using about 50 tractors and car tyres.
The intensity of the rally escalated about 1am when the farmers tried to burn a police truck used to detain suspects, but were forcibly pushed back by authorities.
