Two express train services from Bangkok to Chiang Mai have been cancelled and the other three trains are terminating in Uttradit from Monday until the end of October to allow repairs to the track following more than a dozen accidents on the 300km stretch this year.
Starting Monday, all north-bound trains are terminating at Sila-art station in Muang district, Uttaradit.
The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) said only three services are now operating on the northern line, and two express train services have been temporarily cancelled. Train travellers are being bused in both directions between Chiang Mai and Sila-art.
