Anti-drug police seized 28 kilogrammes of heroin and 14 kilogrammes of crystal meth, or ya ice, with an estimated street value of 100 million baht, in a raid in western Ratchaburi province early Thursday, authorities said.
The drugs were found in three sacks covered with canvas on the first floor of a deserted three-storey building on Thon Buri Road in tambon Wang Manao of Pak Tor district. Police raided the premises at 1am, Daily News quoted Pol Col Pratheep Ransranoi, deputy chief of Samut Sakhon police.
Pol Col Pratheep said he received information from the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) on Wednesday night that a drug-trafficking gang would deliver a large amount of narcotics on Phutthamonthon Sai 4 Road in Nakhon Pathom province. Updated intelligence later in the evening said the gang had changed the delivery point to a Big C Supercenter branch in Samut Sakhon.
