The European Union has requested full protection on its investments in Thailand in exchange for extending favours to Thai businesses under the proposed Thai-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
The second round of FTA talks ended on Friday in Chiang Mai but failed to reach a formal agreement. The first round of talks were held in Brussels in May.
Both sides hope to have an agreement in place by next year.
