Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has travelled to the lower Northeast to inspect the flood situation in Si Sa Ket and Ubon Ratchathani provinces, with flooding now reported in 32 provinces and 22 people said to have died in flood-related incidents.
Government spokesman Teerat Ratanasevi said Ms Yingluck was originally scheduled to visit flood-prone areas in Bangkok and nearby provinces on Monday.
She changed her schedule after being briefed on the situation in the Northeast yesterday, amid fears the region could be further hard hit by Typhoon Wutip, which is approaching the Vietnamese coast.
