Another Thai Premier League (TPL) referee was shot Thursday in an attack believed to have been related to his recent role in a controversial football match which led to his ban from the job for one and a half years.
Nakhon Sa-ard, a well-known beach football referee who has recently served as an assistant referee in a TPL match between Rayong FC and Singhtarua FC, was shot in the legs five times while jogging early yesterday morning in Nonthaburi. He was rushed to Pranangklao Hospital.
Mr Nakhon said he had no idea why someone had wanted to hurt him.
