Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra had ordered a continuation of the use of the Internal Security Act (ISA) in three Bangkok districts until Oct 18, even though the protesters have moved away from Government House, Deputy Premier for security affairs Pracha Promnok said on Friday.
Pol Gen Pracha was speaking after being briefed on the situation regarding the anti-government protest by the People's Force for Democracy to Overthrow Thaksinism (Pefot) at Government House earlier today.
He said Ms Yingluck wanted the ISA to remain in force in Dusit, Pomprap Sattruphai and Phra Nakhon districts - which encompasses Government House and parliament - until Oct 18, after Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang ends his official visit to Thailand and returns to Beijing.
