Exports down 7.09% in September

The value of exports for September contracted 7.09% to US$19.3 billion, while imports were down 5.23% to $18.83 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of $473.2 million, permanent secretary for commerce Srirat Ratthapana said on Friday.
Total export value for the first nine months of the year expanded by 0.05% to stand at $172.14 billion, and the value of imports for the same period stood at $189.81 billion, leaving a total trade deficit of $17.67 billion, Mrs Srirat said.
