The World Bank Office of Bangkok serves as a source of financial and technical assistance to Thailand. It is not a traditional bank. Rather, it is made up of two development institutions owned by 185 member countries — the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA).
Each institution has a supportive role in reducing global poverty and improving living standards.
The World Bank Office, Bangkok provides low-interest loans, interest-free credit and grants for education, health, infrastructure, communications and many other purposes.
