Thai Tanning Industry Association (TTIA) is an organization that promotes the tanning industry in Thailand. The association consists of 130 tanneries in the Samutprakarn area. Its objective is to manage and provide members with the tanning techniques, industrial waste management, environmental control, trade co-operation, and foreign business development. TTIA manages 2 central waste-water treatment plants on 21 acres of land, costing about USD 20 million. Its monthly electricity bills cost more than USD 50,000. These treatment plants serve all of the 130 tanneries. Members have made strong commitment toward environmental control.
