In June 1962, when Thai silk began to be recognised as a significant industry, both local and aboard, a group of leading producers united to form the Thai Silk Association. Its objectives are as follows: Promote the production and trade of silk through such joint undertakings as cooperation with relevant government agencies, exchange knowledge and technical information among members and maintenance of standards and improvement of quality.
