MFC Asset Management PCL is Thailand's first established mutual fund management company, founded by the Thai Government and International Finance Corporation in 1975 under the name The Mutual Fund Co., Ltd. with the objective of mobilizing savings from the public for development of the Thai capital market. A securities license to manage investment funds was granted by the Ministry of Finance in 1975.
The company’s current major shareholders are the Ministry of Finance, Government Savings Bank and Country Group Securities PLC. It is licensed to manage three types of funds - Mutual Funds, Provident Funds and Private Funds – and is also authorized to undertake securities registration business by the Ministry of Finance and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
