THAI scraps plan for JV with Tiger

Thai Airways International has scrapped a joint-venture plan with Tiger Airways to set up a Thai offshoot of the Singapore-based low-cost carrier.
Instead, the national carrier has opted to push ahead with a plan to operate a budget airline called Thai Smile.
Ampon Kittiampon, chairman of the airline's board, yesterday said the board had resolved to scrap the joint investment with Tiger Airways to launch Thai Tiger Airways, a discount carrier.
