PC Air finally ready to spread its wings

After a nine-month delay, a privately owned Thai airline billed as the world's first carrier to employ the third gender as cabin attendants, is ready to take to the skies.

The four ladyboys recruited as PC Air attendants pose for a picture on board the demonstration flight yesterday. The company will start with charter flights before trying to become a ‘full-fledged’ airline after next year’s second quarter. BOONSONG KOSITCHOTETHANA

PC Air is due to commence its maiden commercial service, a charter flight for a tour group from Bangkok to Vientiane on Dec 24, and plans to inaugurate flights to two Chinese cities on a charter basis on Jan 23 next year.

This is just the start. well done ladies. Now what is needid are other airlines to follow suit, especially on the international routes. Mr Chan, i do think that people will fly your airline a lot. You have started a trend. What about asia airlines, Thai airways also.
I do think that these ladies will get a really great welcome from all the passangers, and so they should. They are a great example.
    Again well done.

Brilliant idea! We will have flight attendants with the strength of a man and the beauty and softness of a woman.

Well done, and about time.In many civilised countries already there are transgered working in important posistions, such as para medics, teaching and lets not forget the james bond girl.
D2= What threat are they? Why would your cousin protest? sounds like jealousy to me.They have more to prove,They may even do a better job. Next time you buy something in Thailand in a big store the lady who will help you etc she may be a Transgender. You all better stay in and not go out.
maybe the nurse,Dr etc in the hospital you attend for treatment could be one.
They are no threat, it does show though how much discrimination and a lack of intellect there is around. WELL DONE PETER CHAN.

    "Mr Peter" ... oh, dear.

  • Discussion 3 : 16/12/2011 at 08:44 AM3

Will PC Air hire "Toms" to be stewards? Otherwise, this is blatant discimination.

My cousin who is a flight attendant would be protesting. Starting this time they have competition with real girls.
