Dreamliner tour alights at Suvarnabhumi

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the revolutionary jetliner designed to challenge the Airbus 380 superjumbo jet, which took to the skies in October 2007, will visit Thailand next month as part of a global promotion tour.

B787 Dreamliner will make a stop in Thailand on a global demonstration tour

The demonstration aircraft, ZA003, is due here between Feb 9 and 11 as a showcase for airline executives from Thai Airways International (THAI) and other potential customers.

    arch is exactly right, the 787 is aimed at a totally different market segment than the A380 so the two are not competitors. Boeing's 747-8 is a more direct competitor to the A380 and the A350XWB will be the one that competes with the 787.

    B787 will certainly not compete or challenge the A380.
    That's clearly not the same league.
    The 787 (and the A350 when it comes) are essentially replacements for earlier generation medium haul wide-body aircraft (B767, A300/A310 and similar, and some narrow body models too (some B757's and similar).
