Passengers at major Thai airports will soon have to pay an additional security charge to cover the cost of examining and screening personal information of incoming and outgoing travellers.
A fee of 90 baht per passenger will be levied to cover the cost of an advanced passenger information system (APPS), which will be put in place at airports with international flights.
Airports of Thailand Plc (AoT), which operates the country's six main airports including Suvarnabhumi, last week endorsed the APPS charge as it gears up the security measures.
