AirAsia goes BIG with mileage plan

Low-cost carrier (LCC) AirAsia has aped a key marketing tool long deployed by full-service airlines _ a loyalty programme that allows passengers to earn points to be redeemed for free plane tickets.
AirAsia announced yesterday its latest gimmick to strengthen its core airline business.
The air mileage scheme, which plays a key role in legacy airlines maintaining their clientele, has hardly been used by LCCs because of costs and complications involved.
