Aviation chief urges moderate taxes, rules
Says the industry is vital to global growth

It provides 56.6 million jobs, has a global value of US$2.2 trillion and, if it were a country, would rank 19th in size by gross domestic product.
Those big numbers reflect the significance of the aviation industry to the world economy but seem little understood by governments and policymakers.
With help from Oxford Economics, an economic forecasting consultancy, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has come up with reports using hard facts and figures to make sure governments appreciate the industry.
