After launching its Thai operation five months ago, AirAsia Expedia Inc, the world's leading online travel company, set a marketing budget of 100 million baht to build brand awareness among local travellers.
The company sees high potential to grow the online travel business in Thailand thanks to low competition and growing internet users.
Dan Lynn, the chief executive of AirAsia Expedia, said the number of visitors to www.expedia.co.th totalled 20-30 million in February, and monthly growth has hovered at 20-30% in the past five months.
