Thai AirAsia (TAA), Thailand's biggest low-cost carrier, posted a 3% rise in third-quarter net profit, driven by double-digit increases in revenue and passenger volume.
The airline recorded net earnings of 199 million baht or 4.57 baht a share for July-September, up from 194 million (4.84 baht a share) in the same period last year.
Net profit for the quarter was depressed by tax burdens not present in the same period last year, when the airline benefited from cumulative losses in previous years, a TAA executive told the Bangkok Post yesterday.
