THAI to pay B500m incentive to staff

Thai Airways International chairman Sorajak Kasemsuvan has agreed to pay incentive bonuses totalling 500 million baht to staff, THAI labour union chairwoman Jaemsri Sukchoterat said after talks on Monday.

On Saturday, about 400 THAI ground staff went on strike, demanding an increased bonus, from one month's salary to two months, and a larger pay rise, from 4% to 7.5%.

The airline eventually agreed to raise staff salaries by 7.5% but did not comply with the union's increased bonus demand.
