Chiang Mai again takes flight in global survey

Chiang Mai airport has retained its status as the world's fourth-best airport in the category of those handling 2-5 million passengers a year.

Though its 2012 ranking in the Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Service Quality Awards remained unchanged from 2011, it continued to be the only Thai airport in the top five of a global category.

Amid fierce regional competition, Thailand's iconic flagship airport, Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok, was again absent from the top rankings for mega-sized airports that handle more than 40 million passengers.
