PM patches up Thai Tiger row
But Sohpon still irked about traffic rights
Premier Abhisit Vejjajiva yesterday threw his support behind Thai Airways International's controversial plan to set up a low-cost carrier with Singapore-based Tiger Airways.
During his first official visit to the flag carrier's head office, the prime minister told Transport Minister Sohpon Zarum, who has opposed the agreement to set up Thai Tiger Airways (TTA), not to interfere with what he called "a corporate decision".
"The government should not present itself to become an obstacle to the development," Mr Abhisit said during a panel discussion while appeasingly patting one of Mr Sohpon's legs.
