Plans for major green energy push by 2022
The government is planning more policies to promote investment in green industries and create about 40,000 green jobs in renewable energy by 2022.
Witoon Simachokdee, the permanent secretary for the Industry Ministry, said ministry officials would meet with representatives from agencies including the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to hear their recommendations for green industry development.
"Our targeted green industries are projects that emit low amounts of carbon and are efficient in terms of energy and natural resource consumption," he said.
