Local and foreign businesses are relieved at the Constitution Court's dropping of the dissolution case against the Democrat Party and hope the verdict will not lead to trouble that would hit the recovering tourism industry and economic growth.
Payungsak Chartsutipol, chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries, said he was happy to hear the verdict because the government could now return to work as usual, but he warned that the government should not neglect safety measures in case of street demonstrations.
"As the private sector, we don't want to see the violence that has followed street demonstrations any more. We've borne enough troubles and can no longer stand any further political unrest," he said.
