Commerce Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong promises transparency and equal opportunity in releasing rice stockpiles and insists the government will not sell below-mortgage prices.
The government will not set criteria that seem to favour certain exporters, he said, referring to an issue that has drawn strong criticism from the private sector in the past.
However, the method of releasing the stocks will depend on the situation at the time, as the government may sell under government-to-government contracts or directly to brokers or local exporters for shipping abroad, said Mr Kittiratt.
