Siemens shuts nuke unit

German industrial giant Siemens is turning the page on nuclear energy, the group's CEO Peter Loescher told the Der Spiegel weekly in an interview published on Sunday.

German industrial giant Siemens is turning the page on nuclear energy, the group's CEO Peter Loescher has told the Der Spiegel weekly in an interview published.

"We will no longer be involved in overall managing of building or financing nuclear plants. This chapter is closed for us," he said, explaining that Siemens would restrict its activity to double-use technology.

    And if the sun don't shine and the wind doesn't blow there is always candles. Has anybody actually asked these green power converts where the power comes from at night time? We are having difficulty getting a car battery to last a few hours.
