GE ready to invest US$1bn in local power endeavours

GE Energy is gearing up to utilise business opportunities worth at least US$1 billion arising from a number of new gas-fuelled power generation ventures in the pipeline in Thailand.

The affiliate of the US conglomerate GE is zeroing in on 40 projects, with a combined generating capacity of more than 3,500 MW, with its latest gas turbine technology developed from a jet engine that powers wide-body aircraft.
