Deloitte sees Thailand as AEC hub

Eight units of Deloitte in Asia are collaborating to set up a regional headquarters in Thailand to tap opportunities from the Asean Economic Community.

The company's offices in Brunei, Guam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam will work in close partnership with the Thai base, said Subhasakdi Krishnamra, chairman of Deloitte Southeast Asia.

The Asean management partnership also gives the region a large single presence in the 20-member Deloitte Global group, meaning Deloitte SEA will be able to set its own strategic direction ahead of the formation of the AEC in 2015, with greater flexibility in decision-making.
