The Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board has lowered its gross domestic growth projection for 2011 to 1.5 per cent, from the previous projection of 3.5-4.0 per cent.
NESDB secretary general Arkhom Termpittayapaisith said on Monday the revision was the consequence of several economic zones being affected by the devastating floods.
The GDP growth for the third quarter of the year was up 3.5 per cent from the same quarter last year on the back of the expansion of the export sector, the recovery of automobile industries affected by the massive earthquake and tsunami in Japan and the increase in investment of the private sector.
