Thai businesses in India take advantage of PM Yingluck's visit to press their case for more help navigating bureaucracy.
NEW DELHI : Thai companies facing hurdles in India may soon find a sympathetic ear and help to make the process go more smoothly.
Difficulties with work permits, repatriation of profits, land acquisition and double taxation were among the issues raised during Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's visit to India late last month.
"We will talk with the people to possibly set up a special area where Thais could invest and we will set up a body to help," Ms Yingluck said during a meeting with Thai executives who have been active in the Indian market.
